NN4B Kickstarter – Going Pro

No Need For Bushido Kickstarter

The NN4B Kickstarter campaign is up and running!

Before I get to the details, I want all of our readers to know that regardless of the outcome of the campaign, we would not permanently abandon NN4B. The hiatus would go on as planned with our intention of starting back up again when Alex would be able to do so. A successful campaign would mean that NN4B would no longer be a hobby, we would be treating it like a job, and the hiatus would be ended soon after.

We have a two tier goal:

$30,000 – We will be able to update our equipment and compensate Alex to continue NN4B in its current form.

$50,000 – Alex will do NN4B FULL TIME and our update schedule will triple to 3 pages a week.

To meet these goals, we will be selling merchandise, new NN4B Volumes 1-3, and some prizes available nowhere else. Check out the full list of rewards on our KickStarter page.

We’re very grateful for your understanding and support. Your enthusiasm is a large reason why we think this campaign might just work. Please contribute if you can and spread the word!

Thank you!

Sorry to see it didn't work out this time. I hope you try again soon. I missed this news the first time round, but I'll keep an eye open for any future kickstarter campaigns, and be sure to donate.

All the best, and thanks for a great webcomic.

I will be funding this campaign just as soon as I know for a fact I have enough money to make it through the summer. ...Don't know which donor level I'll be at yet, but there'll be something there.

  • I'll be making some posts in my DA journal and Tumblr once it's a little bit closer to the end of the kickstarter (15 days left or so.)

The thing that can help NNFB most will be word-of-mouth and sharing the kickstarter link with others.

3x weekly NNFB would be AMAZING. I would love to see Alex leave his job and devote all his time to making comics. If he's improved this much by drawing pages just once a week, I'd be curious to see what will happen if he were doing it full-time.

I'm a little worried about the campaign, too.  I could only give $75,
and I don't know if this will help, but I made some Project Wonderful
size boxes and put them on my PW boxes.  I also put graphics and code
that people can take and use for the duration of the Kickstarter
    campaign here:

These might not be the greatest graphics, but they were what I could get
done this morning.  I hope getting the word out will help; I really
    love NNFB.

That's an awesome idea, thank you!

We'll whip up some banners as well.

That's a great idea, I'm thinking that instead of adding more to my contribution my money would be better spent on advertising your kickstarter. As soon as you have some nice banner I'll use it to auction some advertisment on targetd sites.

  • They don't generate enough traffic to the site if they don't update the comic.  They haven't made a real update in 3 weeks.

I'm starting to worry about this Kickstarter campaign.  I've made as big a pledge as I can afford ($200), but the amount of new donations is a mere trickle now and we aren't even a third of the way there.  Yes, there's still plenty of time to go, but we need about $800 a day from this point forward, and we aren't getting even close to that.

I think more needs to be done to push the campaign if we want it to have any success....

  • jwkovell

    Very good points.

We have a few Kickstarter updates set for this weekend. That may help roll things along.

  • Desaix

(wish there was an edit feature here)  Typ0 -- $700 a day (it's actually $718). Still making nowhere close to that.

  • IronFox

of course I'm backing this. this comic must so survive
