New Website!

It’s time to put a fresh coat of paint on the old site. While I was at it, I tore down the entire house and rebuilt it from the ground up. We’re now running on Wordpress using the WebComic Plugin, which is extremely awesome. Most of the improvements are in the comic management end of things, but a few new features you might notice are an improved RSS feed, archive navigation using your keyboard’s arrow keys, and nicer image galleries (soon to be used for fanart, fanmixes, sketches, etc.)

Because this was a complete site overhaul, the old comic comments couldn’t be moved over from our old archive. We’re still using DISQUS, though, so if you had a comment account before, it’ll still work.

The site is a little on the empty side right now, but I’ll have all the various extra stuff up later this week. For now enjoy watching tiny (hopefully unimportant) pieces of the site break as I mess with the HTML.

  • Um, what's with putting all of the site content inside ad-related tags? My ad blocker got confused and decided to block all of the site content.

The site was enclosed in a div called ad-wrap because the blue background area could be used to display a wallpaper ad or an important announcement. I've renamed that div wallpaper-wrap.

That said, the majority of the money we get from NNFB, the money that we use to pay for bandwidth, art supplies, etc. comes from advertising. We really appreciate it when readers who have ad blocking software disable it for NNFB. We do not allow pop-ups and we block any offensive ads readers report to us. We also get paid regardless of whether or not the ad is clicked, so simply allowing them to show up helps us out.
  • I'm going to assume that 'ad-related' tags means javascript and that you're running a javascript blocker. Remember that NNFB is a free site that is supported by advertising. If you love the comic, stop blocking its ads. : )

I'm like a PSA over here!
